About Walter Hackett
A true blue southern gentleman and "Georgia Cracker," Walter Hackett is originally from Rome, Georgia. He comes from four generations of hotel/motel developers and owners. This background led him to open his own commercial real estate brokerage, where he developed and sold properties for 24 years, ranging from the unusual (the largest Fallow deer farm east of the Mississippi) to lucrative subdivisions, apartments and motels. Walter has been a "regular" on Longboat Key since his parents started vacationing here in 1964. Many members of his family have purchased homes on LBK throughout the years, and Walter and his wife, Grace, have resided on LBK for the last nine years. Walter is very involved with his community; he is a member and past president of Friends of Tennis, a current member of the LBK Planning and Zoning Board, sits on the Board of Directors of the Public Interest Committee (PIC) and a prior member of the LBK Zoning Board of Adjustments. Professionally, Walter is a firm believer in listening to his clients in order to fully represent their needs, desires and circumstances.
